The company was established by Howard Wilson back in 1904, people were fascinated by the new "horseless carriage" and being eager to learn how to drive, motoring enthusiasts came to Wilsons where Howard and his company offered driving lessons. It was only natural that Wilsons would sell cars to this captivated audience but back then there were only a few thousand cars in the country.
By the 1920s and 30s the number of car owners increased and as such the business expanded and moved to a bigger site in Epsom by the end of the Second World War.
In 1953 Wilsons became a Renault dealer and over the years have added Nissan, Peugeot, Fiat, Citroen and Vauxhall. With 6 new car franchises all on one site Wilsons is unique in that it offers customers a greater choice for their next new car. With over 4 acres of land, Wilson can also offer their customers a choice from over 1000 quality used cars all makes and models.
Despite the many changes that Wilsons has seen since the early 1900's it's still family run. Our chairman, Ian Wilson, is the third generation of the family and the Managing Director, Gina Wilson, is from the fourth generation. This continued family influence has seen the core values of choice, value and trust remain at the centre of the business. So you can be confident of finding the right car for you at an unbeatable price and receive the best levels of service. In short Wilsons is a family business that cares.
