Honda has announced the creation of an additional 500 jobs at its Swindon manufacturing centre on the same day as normal production resumes of the new Civic. Honda has teamed up with Mugen Euro to produces a 175PS hybrid CR-Z model which boasts more performance than the Civic Type R. The new CR-Z iCF has a top speed of over 130mph and can sprint from 0 to 62mph in 6.1 seconds-over 3 seconds faster than the standard sports coupe car. Production of the new Honda Civic will be back up to full speed next month after Thailand’s flooding disaster resulted in the manufacturer struggling to obtain parts. The massive floods in Thailand is the latest natural catastrophe to hit the car industry’ supply chain.
